Grid connection requirements and processes for industrial and commercial energy storage2024/1/29

Industrial and commercial energy storage is used for peak shaving and valley filling of user loads, reducing energy costs, integrating renewable energy, and improving the utilization rate of renewable energy. The design of industrial and commercial energy storage should be based on application requirements, access voltage levels, energy storage types, characteristics, and requirements. The selected energy storage battery, battery management system, energy storage inverter and other equipment for the energy storage system should pass the test, and their selection and configuration should meet the requirements of the application scenario.

The user side energy storage is recommended to use the low-voltage side connection method of the transformer, and the capacity of a single grid connection point should match the voltage level. The user side energy storage network should be set at the high and low voltage busbars of the user substation, not at the user power supply lines and low voltage feeder lines, and should not be set at the high voltage busbars and terminal distribution rooms of the workshop distribution room.

For the user side energy storage system connected to the 0.4kV grid, in principle, a grid connection point should be set on the 0.4kV low-voltage busbar side of one transformer; In a single transformer with a capacity of 2000kVA or more, and with sufficient space on the low-voltage side of the user substation, an additional grid connection point can be added.

For user side energy storage systems with grid connection of 10 (20) kV and above, in principle, one grid connection point should be set for each busbar. The capacity of a 10kV step-up transformer in the energy storage system should not exceed 2500kVA in principle, and can be merged into the 10 (20) kV busbar after multiple transformers are used for boosting and converging. The following is the user side energy storage grid connection service process:

1The user applies for grid connection to the customer service center or power supply station of the city/district/county company. The customer service center or power supply station of the city/district/county company accepts the application and enters it into the marketing business system on the same day, and transfers the grid connection application materials to the customer manager.

2Within 2 working days of the customer service center or power supply location of the city/district/county company, the customer manager is responsible for organizing on-site surveys. After the on-site survey, the customer manager is responsible for formulating the access system plan within 10 working days.

3The customer service center or power supply station customer manager of the city/district/county company is responsible for responding to the access system plan, the user confirms the access system plan, and entrusts qualified construction units to carry out the project construction.

4The customer service center or power supply station of the city/district/county company is responsible for accepting the application for grid connection acceptance. On the day of acceptance, the application is entered into the marketing business system and relevant information is transferred to the customer manager.

5The customer service center or power supply office of the city/district/county company is responsible for organizing measurement installation, grid connection acceptance, signing supplementary agreements for power supply and consumption contracts, and organizing grid connection.

6After the user side energy storage project is connected to the grid, the customer service center or power supply station of the city/district/county company will organize and archive the data generated from the grid connection service process.
